Estherlyn's Tobago Jumper - MMUp Details and Features

Have you been following the mash-a-long?  This is the final Thursday of August so it's time for some features from the link-up and a few more details about the Estherlyn's Tobago Jumper MMUp.  As a reminder, this was the schedule for the August MMUp:

Thursday 8/7: Introduce the patterns and open the giveaway (giveaway ends on 8/20 at midnight EST)
Thursday 8/14: Reveal the MashUp, alter the patterns, and open the link up (open until 8/27 at midnight EST)
Thursday 8/21: Begin sewing the MashUp with the Giveaway winner announced on Facebook and Instagram
Thursday 8/28: Share the details of the MashUp and features from the link up

There were some great mashUps linked this month!

My friend Amy from Sews N Bows shared her Secret Garden Dress MashUp and I just adore that neckline!

Jessica from Snickerdoodle Stew shared a Fairytale Handkerchief and Knot Right Now Dress MashUp on Pattern Revolution and can't get over the handkerchief hem.  I really need to get myself that pattern!

And I was super excited to see Amy from Friends Stitched Together's Johnny Bond MashUp!  Hers uses one of the shoulder patches too which is really cool.  This is a great reminder that the MMUps are out there in blogland forever and you can always go back to one when you have the time.  So don't forget to Pin your favorites!

For Bean's Estherlyn's Tobago Jumper I used two fabrics that I adore from Imagine Gnats' shop.  The floral is a cotton lawn that I've used a few times before and I love the drape.  It's color is really brought out by the interweave chambray in lagoon.  I can't tell you guys how much I am obsessed with those interweave chambrays.  You need to see it in person because the different colors woven together really make the fabric shine in a way that I can't get my camera to capture.

Bean has been asking me to make her a hat and while I have a few ideas brewing, I stumbled upon the Blue Beret free pattern from Little Blue Boo.  It took all of 20 minutes to cut and sew this little hat so it's perfect for play or a quick photo prop, but it's so cute that it's also a legit hat that she can wear anytime.  She was so excited when I showed her the new hat and she yelled out "you made it!" which seems adorable until you know that she basically thinks I make everything.  I gave her one of these princess dive sticks (*affiliate link) for the pool a few weeks ago and she also yelled out "you made it!" so there's that....

And then there's this super cheese face where her smile somehow incorporates her nose lately.  Anyway, have you enjoyed the new Monthly MashUp format with a post each Thursday?  That means next Thursday starts a new MMUp so be sure to check back.  As always I'm super excited about the next one too!

If you still haven't purchased the Tobago Tank from Sis Boom and the Estherlyn's Jumper from The Merry Church Mouse, there's no better time than now.  The Merry Church Mouse has extended the 25% discount code MASHUP through the end of August AND there is 40% off at the Scientific Seamstress Etsy shop right now with the coupon code GLUESTICK where you can purchase the Tobago Tank.  Be sure to follow the Monthly MashUp Pinterest board if you'd like some more inspiration for garments to mash and I'd love you to share the Monthly MashUp button somewhere on your blog:

  1. I adore that little dress Ajaire! The colors are gorgeous and the hat is just all kinds of cuteness :) I love when John gets excited that I've made him something - if he really likes it, he goes "You did it! Good job, Mommy!" Praise from a three year old is totally worth sewing anything they ask for!

  3. Loving the fabric choices on this one. Does she wear the beret without smooshing it on her head? I can see some interesting styling happening at my house :)
