Antalya Dress - Willow & Co

Have you seen the new patterns being released by Willow & Co this spring?  I had the chance to sew an Antayla Dress and love how it turned out.

The Antayla's dolman sleeved side panels offer a perfect spot for contrast fabrics.  I used a lovely solid ponte de roma and a floral cotton lawn both from Imagine Gnats (*affiliate links).  Though the dress is meant for woven fabrics, using the ponte on the sides means that this relaxed fit dress feels even more comfortable on Bean.

The pattern comes with sizes 12-18M to 12 so there is a wide range for your girl.  I used the exposed zipper view since buttons can be a pain to loop when Bean is wiggling around.

The option for piping along the side panels is a nice touch.  With all of the details you might think this dress was more difficult to make than it was.  The pattern actually comes together really quickly and would definitely be considered a confident beginner pattern.

The dress is an adorable addition to Bean's summer wardrobe.  She insisted on wearing it to bed that first night which is always a winner!

Now for some quick news/update.  At the beginning of May we pretty much dropped everything and put an offer on a house nearby and once it was accepted that meant we had to get OUR house on the market in less than a week.  Can you imagine for a minute.... fabric in every nook and cranny?  It's been the craziest month (hence the silence here on the blog!), but our house had an offer the first day on the market and everything has been moving along smoothly as both houses are under contract.  We are supposed to close at the end of June and fingers crossed over the next month I'll have some time to work on some blog/pattern stuff again.  The picture above is from Instagram of the backyard of the new house.  There are an additional 5 acres of woodland trails and a pond beyond that tree line that are all a part of the property, so it'll be worth the hustling once we get into that house!
