Runway Skirt

I'm excited to share the details with you from a new pattern for women from Savvy Patterns!  The Runway Skirt is the first pattern in what I'm certain will be a successful endeavor for the ladies of Skirt Fixation.

A longtime follower of Skirt Fixation, I'm thrilled that they've finally released their first official pattern under Savvy Patterns and it's a show-stopper.  The Runway Skirt is just what you'd expect from a skirt with such a name.  The godets in the back swish back and forth when you walk so you really do feel like you're walking the catwalk.

The pattern is sized 00-24 so this skirt will easily fit a wide range of body shapes.  There are three main lengths: maxi, midi, and knee.  Inside of each of those lengths there is also the option of the specific measurement lengths by the inch.  I chose the knee length and with the range from 23" to 26" I opted for the 23".

I have a short torso, so I think for the next skirt I will shorten it by 2" or so.  The pattern instructions are very clear about lengthening and shortening so I feel confident it'll be a breeze.  The instructions overall are easy to work with.  Since the skirt has the option of being made with knit or a stretchy woven, there are instructions for a zipper for the woven versions.  I have a plan for a stretchy woven version already.

This skirt is made with a scuba knit I bought at JoAnn last year and it's super soft and cozy.  The godets are made with a crepe de chine from Imagine Gnats and they drape really well.  I have to say a big congratulations and wish success to Savvy Patterns!  You can purchase it here with 20% off during the tour.  Enter the giveaway below and then check out what the rest of the lovely ladies made with the Runway Skirt pattern:
