Sew-a-bration of Womanhood Day 8

If you're looking for the giveaway and link-up parties for our Sew-a-bration of Womanhood you can find them here.

Today I'm excited to link you to Brianne of Ali Cat & Co.  I saw previews of what she made recently and I really am looking forward to reading the whole post!  But first we gave all of the contributors a general questionnaire and here are a few of Brianne's responses:

Age: 29
Body Type: 5'6",  120lbs, knuckle dragger and chicken legs, teenaged boy curves
If I had to choose a sewing anthem for my outfit: Peggy Lee's Fever
I had to attend a silver and gold cocktail party a week ago.  I had nothing silver or gold in the closet.  GASP! I adore Mouse House Creations' Caroline Party Dress.  It was the perfect pattern choice for the cocktail party and for this Sew-a-bration of Womanhood series!
I wanted this dress to be sexy yet sophisticated.  I'm not a young 20's girl anymore; I can't get away with just sexy and no sophistication.  For this dress, I chose a cotton lining hemmed on the short side paired with a slightly above the knee sheer black overlay with silver sequin embroidery.  The bodice is black satin with cotton lining. After getting all dolled up, I 'modeled' <insert chuckle; I'm no model> for my fabulous husband.  He raised his eye brows and said "that's short!".  Yes, indeed!  But as Peggy Lee sings "Chicks were born to give you fever"!
