The "where" that I signed up for was a Coffee Shop Blogging Session. Cause let's face it, the actual blogging part of being a blogger is the most boring part, so if you've got to do it you might as well go out to a coffee shop for a treat and change of scenery, right?
I wanted a casual top with a slim fitting pant to wear with my newest booties. I continued on my Clover Pants fitting expedition (started here), and though worn in front of the mirror these looked great, you can see that the stretch sateen I used has puddled and is hanging weird after wearing them around town for a couple of hours. So it'll be back to muslins I go. Pants fitting seems to be a never ending work in progress.
For the top I used a testing version of the Cheyenne Tunic coming soon from Hey June. There are a few tweaks I need to make to this pattern as well, but once this pattern is released you guys are going to LOVE it. I'll definitely post more when the pattern is released because I need more of these in my life.
This outfit is casual enough that it's comfy for sitting and writing all those posts I've been putting off, but dressed up enough to feel put together walking around town.
My favorite part of this coffee shop photo shoot was that it wasn't a coffee shop at all. I had roped my friend into coming along to take the pics for me (a tripod set up in public in a small town didn't sound too fun), but of course the local coffee shop is closed the day we planned the pictures.
So we (and our kids) went to one of those coffee stands in the front of the grocery store! Haha, it was ridiculous. The lighting was awful, the tables were directly in front of ALL THE PEOPLE who were checking out their groceries, and I swear the whole town thinks I'm a crazy person now, but I have to admit - terrible picture quality aside - that it was pretty fun. So I guess we can say that this wear can also be worn at the grocery store, hehe.
