Cats Skater Dress

Can you believe I had never made a Skater Dress (the original for little girls) until yesterday?  It is one of those patterns where I have loved all the versions I've seen out there and just never got around to buying.  Then I saw Amanda was stocking this CAT FABRIC and I knew it had to be used for a skater dress.  By the way, I'm not an affiliate of Kitschycoo.  I just fell in love with this fabric and pattern and had to share it with all of you!

Happy Homemade Parka

First I need to say how awesome the libraries around us are.  Our own county system is fantastic, but we are also allowed to use the neighboring counties' systems which means if our library doesn't have something, then there's a high chance one of the others will.  When I heard about You and Mie and Elsie Marley's sew along I searched the libraries for the Happy Homemade book and was shocked to find it.  I love looking through the entire book and even trying a pattern before I buy a sewing book.  The library makes that possible.

Monthly MashUp (6) Shandiin Cosi

If you're looking for the details of this monthly series you can check out the introduction post.

Monthly MashUp - with Call Ajaire

The official start of summer is still two days away, but we're in full summer mode here already.  With all of the pool days ahead I've been busy sewing swimming suits for Bean and I thought maybe some of you might be looking for a fun bathing suit pattern.  June's Monthly MashUp takes Sewpony's newest pattern The Cosi Swimsuit and mashes it with LouBee Clothing's newest pattern the Shandiin Tank & Tunic to make an adorable one piece swimsuit.

Romper Week

I've always loved a good romper and I think this summer will be no exception.  Bean is now three years old and potty trained so a romper can be tricky when she's asking to do everything herself.  I set in to designing a romper that she could be comfortable in and both dress and undress without my help.  RaeAnna invited me to be a part of her fun Romper Week so I jumped at the excuse to design the romper I'd been planning in my head for the summer.

Contributions and Digital Drafting

Yesterday a post I had been working on for a few weeks went live on Sew, Mama, Sew.  I contributed a new tutorial for Lattice Smocking which is an update of my old photos and diagrams from this post.  Since Lattice Smocking is a hand stitching technique, it's a great project for summer travel.  It really does go along quickly once you get the rhythm and since you transfer the markings right on the fabric there's no need to bring along a chart.  I hope some of you will try it so you'll see how easy it is to make something that looks so special and difficult.

Sew-a-bration of Womanhood Wrap Up

It's been over a week since our last Sew-a-bration post and I'm still marveling at all the great looks that were added to the linky.  I am honored to be a part of a series this good and thank the Shaffer Sisters for asking me to cohost.  It was a fun month full of lots of inspiration, so let's take a quick look at some of my favorite things that were linked.

Starting from the top left, around clockwise, and then center:

Donna from Once Upon a Sewing Machine's striped Parisian Top - The Parisian is one of my favorite styles.
Amy from Sews N Bows' Simplicity 1804 - I love how the back turned out!
April from Modern Handmade's Polka Dot Angie Dress - Anniversary vacation to Palm Springs?  Yes please!
Kuka & Bubu's Plantain Tee Variation - I love it as a tank.
Nutta's Asymmetrical Bag - It's great seeing all of these new bags (pattern by Serger Pepper) popping up!
Major Moma from Without Directions' Burdastyle Wrap Dress - That green eyelet is lovely.
Jess from Gracious Threads' Reverse Applique Tank - Can you tell I'm ready for summer? hehe

Also, the winners of the giveaways were chosen by Rafflecopter and they are:
Audrey from Skirt Fixation won Bundle #1!
Amy from Sews N Bows won Bundle #2!
Michelle from Falafel and the Bee won Bundle #3!

Those bundles are pretty amazing so a big thanks goes out to the donors!  There were also so many great things linked up that I also want to say thank you to everyone who participated and made this series so fun.  In case you missed any of the contributors, here's the list again:
